blog post 5

After hours of research and looking at concrete facts and details I can honestly say this myth is plausable. I was skeptical at first then with all of the stories I found it conviced me. At the stroke of midnight I myself decided to lock myself in the bathroom and shouted "bloody mary" 13 times. I saw a horrific woman standing behind me so I quickly flipped the light switch on and my sister was standing there. She was cracking up laughing while i was scarred out of my mind. I think people who will believe this have an open- mind and those who don't will be close-minded.

Appearance: A female, blood-covered ghost sometimes reported to be wearing a dress or wedding gown.

Lore: According to the legends, one can summon Bloody Mary by going into a dark room with a mirror, such as a restroom, and saying the name 'Bloody Mary' three times while spinning around in a circle. It is said that the spirit of Bloody Mary will then appear in the mirror instead of one's own reflection and violently and painfully kill the person who summoned her. The reported ritual to summon Bloody Mary does vary from region to region and can incorporate speaking the name 'Bloody Mary' up to 13 times as well as using a lighted candle. Powers: physical strength and possibly supernatural powers. Defense Against Bloody Mary: None. The best advice would be not to summon her. Fortunately there are no confirmed deaths of people bold enough to summon her.

The question must be asked if this documentation leggitiment or assinine? Probaly no one will ever know the answer to the question.

blog 3

Okay, this story isn't really scary..just weird.

So a week and a half ago I was having "girls night" with my 3 best friends. We got to talking about scary stories and decided to try Bloody Mary. Unfortunately, the only people willing to play was myself and my friend Melissa. Well, we tried a few different times and a few different approaches. Saying Bloody Mary 13 times while spinning, saying it 5 times, saying it and sprinkling water on the mirror and with candles lit. Needless to say, nothing out of the ordinary happened. That is until I left to go home. It was around 2am and I was taking my friend Em home. As we are driving, there is a red car on my you know what. So I tried braking, and then slowly down so he/she/it would just pass me. No luck. So I get in the other lane..the red car gets in the other lane..I get back over, the car gets back over. Then I had to stay in the left lane because there was construction so naturally the car would have to stay in the same lane. When the road spanned out into 2 lanes, I got in the right as did the red car. Now I knew for a fact he was following me, so I told Em that if he followed me when I turned onto another street, then I was going to start freaking. Well right before my turn, the car flashes its headlines, does a complete U-Turn and speeds off the other way.Nothing too scary..just..weird... I blame it on Bloody Mary.

This story is about my friend Cassie, Cassie's step sister, Macie and I after what happened in Party gone wrong we were at my house and were telling ghost stories and reliving our past experience when Cassie decided to try "Bloody Mary". In my bedroom my closet doors are mirrors so it's like having four full length mirrors. The lights were already off so we sat on my bed and looked at the mirrors. We chanted bloody mary three times and nothing happened so we just laughed it off and turned the lights on. Nothing strange happened until my parents left to go see my aunt and uncle. We were laying on the floor getting ready to go to bed when we heard someone walking up and down the hallway and we knew we were the only ones home. Then I saw the hall light come on and my bathroom door flew open and the tap started running full force and the shower came on. Macie went and turned everything off and suddenly it was calm. Then we heard someone drumming their fingers on my door outside in the hall. We all held our hands up to show we weren't doing it and it kept going. I jumped up and flung the door open and it stopped, then my closet doors burst open. We started praying that it would all stop and suddenly it did.
Nothing has happened since and I am so glad. Now Cassie and I don't look for ghostly encounters and we pray that they don't look for us.

background blog 2

The summoner must say, "Bloody Mary, I killed your baby." In these variants, Bloody Mary is often believed to be the spirit of a young mother whose baby was stolen from her, making her mad in grief, eventually committing suicide. In stories where Mary is supposed to have been wrongly accused of killing her children, the querent might say "I believe in Mary Worth." This is similar to another game involving the summoning of the bell witch in a mirror at midnight. The game is often a test of courage and bravery, as it is said that if Bloody Mary is summoned, she would proceed to kill the summoner in an extremely violent way, such as ripping their face off, scratching their eyes out, cutting their head off, driving them insane, bringing them into the mirror with her or scratching their neck, causing serious injury or death. Some think if she doesn't kill the one who had summoned her then she will haunt them for the rest of their life. Other versions tell that if one chants her name thirteen times at midnight into a mirror she will appear and the summoner can talk to a deceased person until 12:08a.m., when Bloody Mary and the dead person asked to speak to will vanish. Still other variations say that the querent must not look directly at Bloody Mary, but at her image in the mirror; she will then reveal the querent's future, particularly concerning marriage and children.

The Legend blog 1

Bloody mary is an urban legend in which anyone can go to a mirror in a dark room, and say "bloody mary" anywhere from 3 to 100 times, thirteen seems to work the best. This topic rattles me every time because it is extremly terriffic. A woman jumping out of a mirror who kills by scratching eyes out of her victims. I've heard of this story a long time ago in my childhood, and my friends and I would always call on the evil spirits of bloody mary just to scare us.
As I grew older I became aware that this is impossiable and just a folk legend. At the same time I believe people have seen crazier things than a woman jumping out of a mirror. There are logical reasons for everything in this world, but people who see things such as this must be hallucinating.
